The Lev HaSharon Regional Council is located in the heart of the Sharon region and unites 18 rural communities characterized by their agricultural and tourism features. The council spans approximately 57,000 dunams and is distinguished by its strong and diverse community. The council operates with a commitment to values of sustainable development, community strengthening, environmental protection, and advancement of education and culture.
The council emphasizes cooperation between different communities, encourages social initiatives, and cultivates a sense of mutual responsibility among its residents. The values guiding its activities are creating a cohesive community, maintaining quality of life, and strengthening connections between council residents for a better future for all.
Council Head, Eli Atoun, leads the Lev HaSharon Council with an approach that actively embodies these values. Under his leadership, the council invests heavily in collaborations with social and community initiatives, based on the belief that social resilience is built through cooperation and connection between people from different sectors.
The collaboration between the Lev HaSharon Regional Council and the “Otef Israel” initiative is a clear example of the shared vision between the council and the initiative: strengthening unity and partnership in Israeli society, regardless of religion, race, or gender. The initiative’s first flag, which will be erected at the Nitzanei Oz Junction within the council’s territory, symbolizes the deep connection between the council’s values and the initiative’s goals.
In this way, the Council Head emphasizes the importance of commemorating the fallen and preserving collective memory alongside nurturing the community and strengthening social resilience. The “Otef Israel” initiative naturally aligns with this vision and provides an opportunity to strengthen the sense of partnership and unity among all parts of Israeli society.
